If you’re an old school gamer you probably remember the hack and slash action adventure series Darksiders. This is a series were mankind went extinct and now you have angels and demons trying to control the world.

A good way to know what the game is about is to check the trailers of the first three games:

Darksiders Genesis is the spin-off prequel of the game developed by Airship Syndicate and published by THQ Nordic.

Here’s the trailer:

It’s now a top down hack and slash instead of being third person. Don’t be fooled by the graphical style, however. It’s not Diablo, it’s still Darksiders but in an isometric camera. In fact a lot of reviewers claim that War controls identically to the first game in the series. Speaking of War, in single player you can switch between Strife and War. Strife uses guns while War uses the sword, Chaos Eater. If you play co-op one will use Strife and the other War. Great to see co-op is back.

If you’re a fan of Darksiders there’s little doubt if you should get the game or not, just get the game. If you’re not know that the reviews are very favorable, sitting at very positive on Steam. There are some negative reviews complaining about some technical issues like broken animations and subtitles.

Darksiders Genesis is available at Steam for $29.99 and Stadia for $39.99. Personally I find it amazing that an already unpopular platform has this game costing more than in Steam. It’s like Goggle wants to fail. Darksiders Genesis will also be available for all consoles in February 2020. The Switch version could be interesting.
